An awesome list for an awesome project.

Arch Linux is an independently developed, x86-64 general purpose GNU/Linux distribution versatile enough to suit any role. Development focuses on simplicity, minimalism, and code elegance. Arch is installed as a minimal base system, configured by the user upon which their own ideal environment is assembled by installing only what is required or desired for their unique purposes.

Within the ecosystem of Arch-based projects, we can find some that use the Linux kernel, and others that do not, expanding even more the options available to Arch lovers.

A distribution of Linux for ARM computers.

Arch-based distros

Simplicity is one of the great features of Arch Linux, which has led the community to use it for their own distributions. In this section we cover all of these through two categories: those general purpose distros (the ones we usually install on our home computers), and those others that were designed with a particular purpose in mind, be it focused on security, data rescue, servers among others.

Archfi

Just a simple bash script wizard to install Arch Linux after you have booted on the official Arch Linux install media.

aui

The Archlinux Ultimate Install comprises of two primary scripts, Lilo and Fifo, which streamline the installation process of Archlinux Base, as well as additional packages, tools, and graphical user interfaces.

AUR Helpers

From Arch Wiki:

AUR helpers automate usage of the Arch User Repository. In particular, they may automate the following tasks:

  • searching for packages published on the AUR;
  • resolving of dependencies between AUR packages;
  • retrieve and build AUR packages;
  • retrieve web content, such as user comments;
  • submission of AUR packages.

  • amethyst (Rust) - A fast, efficient and lightweight AUR helper and Pacman wrapper made for Crystal, compatible with any Arch-based Linux distribution.
  • Aura (Haskell) - A secure, multilingual package manager for Arch Linux and the AUR.
  • Pacaur (Bash) - An AUR helper that minimizes user interaction.
  • Pakku (Nim) - pacman wrapper with AUR support.
  • Paru (Rust) - AUR helper with all needed modern wrapper features, created by a former developer of yay.
